Bokaro: In a heartfelt tribute to the late Rakesh Kumar Singh, a celebrated tabla and dholak player as well as a music teacher at Sri Ayyappa Public School, Bokaro artists came together for a moving musical evening on Wednesday in Sector 6.
The event, organized by the Bokaro Artists Association, not only honored Singh’s memory but also marked the death anniversary of the iconic film playback singer Mohd Rafi.
The tribute saw the participation of a diverse audience including Bokaro Headquarters DSP Animesh Gupta, Singh’s brother Rajesh Kumar Singh, and other family members such as Sushil Singh and brother-in-law Sanjeev Kumar Singh.
The event was also graced by the Bokaro Artists Association’s president, vice-president, secretary, and other executive members, alongside artists from various disciplines, members of the Sri Ayyappa Public School management committee, and teachers.
The evening featured a soulful presentation of devotional and Nirgun songs, celebrating the musical legacy of Rakesh Singh and paying homage to Mohd Rafi. The performance captured the essence of Singh’s contribution to music and his impact on the local and regional cultural landscape.
