Guwahati: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is set to hold its annual Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) at the Janaseva Vidya Kendra premises in Bengaluru on March 21, 22, and 23, 2025. RSS’s Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh, Sunil Ambekar, briefed the press about the significance of the ABPS, an essential annual meeting of the Sangh. He was accompanied by N. Tippeswamy, Kshetra Karyavah of Dakshin Madhya Kshetra (comprising Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana), along with Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukhs Narendra Kumar and Pradeep Joshi.
Ambekar explained that Sarakaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale will begin the ABPS by presenting a report on the current status of Sangh work. This will be followed by reports on activities and programs from various Prants (regions) across the country. The inaugural ceremony of the ABPS will take place on Friday at 9 am at the Vidya Kendra in Channenahalli. RSS Sarasanghachalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat and Sarakaryavah Hosabale will jointly inaugurate the representatives’ meeting.
Ambekar further noted that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the RSS. During the ABPS, the expansion of Sangh work will be discussed in detail. The period from Vijayadashami 2025 to Vijayadashami 2026 will be observed as the centenary year. A comprehensive outreach program will be planned, involving people from all walks of life. The discussions will also focus on Panch Parivartan, which covers social harmony, Kutumb Prabodhan (family education), environmental awareness, the concept of ‘Swa’ (selfhood), and citizens’ duties.
Two resolutions are expected to be passed during the three-day gathering. The first will address concerning developments in Bangladesh, including atrocities against Hindus and other minorities, along with the way forward. The second resolution will focus on the RSS’s journey over the last 100 years, its activities during the centenary year, and its future path. The ABPS will also release a special statement to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Rani Abbakka, the warrior queen born in 1525 from Karnataka, honoring her contributions.
Ambekar also provided details about the RSS’s training programs (Prashikshan Vargs), stating that 95 Vargs will be conducted this year, including Sangh Shiksha Varg (SSV) and Karyakarta Vikas Varg (KVV) 1 and 2. Out of these, 72 Vargs will be for individuals under 40 years of age, while 23 Vargs will cater to those aged 40 and above. The ABPS will also finalize plans for a nationwide Pravas (tour) by Sarsanghchalak Bhagwat.
Ambekar highlighted that the ABPS is being held in Bengaluru after a gap of four years. Sanghatan Mantris (organizing secretaries) or Sah Sanghatan Mantris (joint organizing secretaries) from 32 Sangh-inspired organizations will participate. Prominent attendees include Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh President, Rashtra Sevika Samiti Pramukh Sanchalika Shantakka, BJP President JP Nadda, ABVP’s Raj Sharan, VHP President Alok Kumar, Satyendra Singh from Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram, and representatives from Vidya Bharati, among others.
On Sunday at 11.30 am, Sarakaryavah Hosabale will address the media. When asked about the Sangh’s activities in recent years, Ambekar stated that RSS karyakartas (workers) are actively involved in nation-building and expanding the organization across Bharat. He also noted that many young people are eager to join the RSS and its initiatives.
