DPS Bokaro Hosts Civil Defence Mock Drill to Promote Safety Preparedness

Bokaro: In line with national efforts to instill a culture of safety, preparedness, and civic responsibility, Delhi Public School, Bokaro conducted a Civil Defence Mock Drill on its campus, following directives from the Central Government.

The mock exercise aimed to equip students with practical skills to respond effectively during emergency or war-like situations. As part of the drill, a simulated blackout was triggered by a siren, creating a real-time training scenario. Students were instructed to remain calm, take shelter under their desks, secure doors and windows, and stay low to the ground or close to walls—standard safety procedures in crisis situations. They were also briefed on the importance of maintaining a ready-to-use emergency kit to ensure immediate relief during such events.

The drill provided a valuable hands-on learning experience for students, enhancing their understanding of safety protocols and crisis response.

Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating, “The Central Government’s efforts to conduct mock drills in schools are crucial for preparing students and citizens to face hostile threats. These activities develop essential life skills and raise awareness among students and staff about the importance of safety and preparedness.”

The event was widely appreciated for its educational impact, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic education that includes real-world readiness.
