Ranchi: In a proud moment for the Mongia National Volleyball Academy (MNVA), two of its distinguished Volleyball experts and coaches have successfully completed the International Volleyball Federation’s (FIVB) Level-1 Coaching Course, conducted simultaneously in two different countries.
Rakesh Kumar Singh, the first captain of Jharkhand and Joint Secretary of MNVA, completed the course in Muscat, Oman, while Ajeet Kumar Singh, a key coach at the Academy, undertook the same program in Guwahati, India.
The training concluded on May 8, 2025, and was part of a global initiative to equip grassroots-level coaches with advanced knowledge and methodology for Volleyball development.
The FIVB Level-1 course is recognized as a significant step in empowering emerging coaches working in foundational development projects. Both candidates were shortlisted among other deserving participants for their commitment to grassroots sports promotion at the national and international levels.
Dr. Gunwant Singh Mongia, President of the academy have also congratulated both the coaches and hoped that this will magnify the dream of Mongia National Volleyball Academy towards its grassroots promotion of Volleyball across the country and in the state of Jharkhand too.
Dr. Jaideep Sarkar, Olympic Educator, Chief Coach of the Indian Men’s Volleyball Team (2023), and Secretary General of MNVA, extended sincere thanks to the VFI Ad-hoc Committee, former Indian team captain Abhijeet Bhattacharya, the BVL authorities, and all those who contributed to the initiative.
Jaideep gave special recognition to Dronacharya and Arjuna Awardee G.E. Sreedharan, the FIVB Instructor, for his invaluable mentorship and for empowering the next generation of grassroots coaching talent with his vast expertise.
