From Crisis to Campaign: Pakistan To Send Bilawal on India-Inspired Mission

*Pakistan PM Sharif Echoes India’s Global Outreach Strategy, Taps Bilawal for Damage Control Abroad*

Islamabad/New Delhi : In a move echoing New Delhi’s recent diplomatic strategy, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has enlisted former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to lead a high-profile international campaign promoting Islamabad’s narrative of peace.

The announcement, coming in the wake of Pakistan’s reported military embarrassment during a four-day flare-up between May 7 and 10—dubbed India’s “Operation Sindoor”—is being widely viewed as a bid to counter India’s assertive global outreach.

According to the media reports, Bhutto confirmed on social media platform X about the development, saying, “I was contacted earlier today by Prime Minister @CMShehbaz, who requested that I lead a delegation to present Pakistan’s case for peace on the international stage. I am honoured to accept this responsibility and remain committed to serving Pakistan in these challenging times.”

The move closely mirrors India’s own initiative, where the government has dispatched seven specially selected Members of Parliament—including prominent leaders like Shashi Tharoor, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and Asaduddin Owaisi—to key capitals in North America, Europe, and West Asia. Their mission: to deliver India’s zero-tolerance message on terrorism and present evidence following the Pahalgam terror attack that prompted Operation Sindoor.

With both countries vying for international support and narrative dominance, global diplomatic corridors are bracing for parallel campaigns—each aiming to shape global perception in a tense subcontinental showdown.
