Another YouTuber in ISI Spy Scandal – India Uncovers Growing Espionage Network

Chandigarh: In yet another sensational twist to the unfolding espionage scandal, a second high-profile Indian YouTuber has been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

The accused, Jasbir Singh, who runs the popular YouTube channel ‘JaanMahal Video’ with over 1.1 million subscribers, was arrested from Rupnagar in Punjab, media reports confirmed.

Alleged Links to Pakistan’s ISI

According to investigators, Jasbir was in direct contact with an officer of the ISI and had traveled to Pakistan three times in the past. He also reportedly attended the Pakistan National Day celebrations at the Pakistani Embassy in New Delhi — a detail that has raised serious red flags. Multiple Pakistani phone numbers were found in his mobile phone, and he is said to have been in contact with Jyoti Malhotra, another YouTuber arrested earlier in a similar case.

The ‘Travel with Jo’ Connection

Jyoti Malhotra, a travel vlogger from Hisar, Haryana, was arrested in May for allegedly leaking sensitive information to ISI operatives. Known online as ‘Travel with Jo’, she had traveled to Pakistan twice in 2023, and her visits to Kashmir were reportedly followed by trips across the border — a pattern now being investigated as intentional.

Police sources say Jyoti, 33, also visited China and made multiple visits to Pakistan, including one just before the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed several civilians. She is now emerging as a central figure in what appears to be a growing ISI-backed espionage ring operating across northern India.

A Growing Spy Network?

The back-to-back arrests have triggered concerns about a larger espionage network exploiting social media influencers and YouTubers for intelligence gathering. Security agencies are probing further leads and examining the digital footprints, international connections, and financial transactions of the accused.

Jyoti remains in police custody, with her next court hearing scheduled for June 9. Meanwhile, interrogation of Jasbir Singh is ongoing, and officials believe more startling revelations may be on the horizon.
