BSL signs MoU with IIIT Hyderabad for Industry-4 technologies in steel production

RNS I Bokaro: Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has also signed a separate MoU with IIIT Hyderabad for use of latest technology, especially Industry-4 technologies in steel production processes.

The MoU was signed virtually on Friday by Atanu Bhowmik, Executive Director (Operations) on behalf of BSL.

Chief General Manager (Maintenance & Digital Champion) BSL S Mukhopadhyay, Chief General Manager (C&A & Communication) Bipin Krishna Saratpe and Professor IIIT Hyderabad, PJ Narayanan (Director, IIIT Hyderabad), Professor Ramesh Loganathan (Chairman Outreach Committee, IIIT Hyderabad) were present during the eve.

Under this MoU, BSL and IIIT Hyderabad will work jointly to bring innovations in technology and product through Industry-4 technologies in steel production, informed Mani Kant Dhan, chief of Communication BSL.

Speaking on the occasion Bhowmik and Mukhopadhyay expressed hope that BSL’s and IIIT Hyderabad’s collaboration will play a significant role in the digital transformation process and the transition to Industry-4 steel manufacturing. For the future, quality production and productivity challenges will also be addressed.

Professor Loganathan also stressed on the importance of Artificial Intelligence for Industry-4 and expressed happiness over IIIT Hyderabad working on research in the area of ​​Artificial Intelligence to improve productivity.

It is noteworthy that BSL has also inked an MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) for technical solutions to steel production challenges.
