“SAIL should give preference to locals in tenders up to Rs 1 Cr.”: Soren

RNS: Chief Minister Hemant Soren asked Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) management to prioritize local displaced persons in awarding them tenders (or contract work) up to Rs one lakh.

Soren met with Soma Mondal, Chairman of (SAIL) on Thursday and urged that SAIL also prioritizes local displaced persons on the lines of Coal India Limited (CIL).

“The state government is on the move to make Bokaro an “education hub” so SAIL should transfer the old school infrastructure to the state government so that we can take further steps in this direction,” Soren said.

Meanwhile, Mondal promised Soren to take positive initiatives in this direction at the earliest.

Besides others, Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Industries Secretary Pooja Singhal were present.
