RNS: IIT-ISM, Dhanbad joined hands with VV Giri National Labour Institute, Noida for student mobility, academic exchange and collaborative research related to Labour & Employment issues.
An MoU has been signed at the conference hall of the Director’s office of IIT (ISM) in presence of host of dignitaries, facilitating undertaking of joint collaborative research, organising seminars & workshops jointly, co-supervision of research scholars, exchange of faculties, conducting collaborative educational programmes and also sharing of Library Resources.
Professor Rajiv Shekhar, director of IIT (ISM) who signed the MoU along with Professor Ajit Kumar, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering cum Coordinator, Innovation, and Office of Dean (IIE) on behalf of IIT (ISM) said that cooperative social Research projects will be carried out jointly by both the institutes.
“The two collaborating institutes will also highlight and disseminate the prospects and challenges of various labour & employment issues in the county in general and northeast in particular by organizing seminars and workshops” further said the IIT (ISM) Director.
Professor Ajit Kumar, while elaborating about the activities to be carried out as per the MoU by both the institutes said, “As per the broad areas agreement of MoU we will also provide the facility of co-supervision of research which means facility of co supervision of research scholar of one party by the faculty of other party on case to case basis” “The provision of MoU also calls for the facility of internship of students of both the institutes in each other institutes” further said Kumar.
Elaborating on the relationship between both the institutes he said, it will be strengthened as for purpose of developing specific cooperative projects and programmes there will be personal visit and exchange programme of faculties at each other institutes. Collaborative educational programmes in the field of labour education will also be launched by the collaborating institutions after jointly working out the modalities.
“Apart the library resources of both the institutions will also be shared by working out the modalities,” he added.
VV Giri National Institute of Labour and Employment, an autonomous body of the Ministry of Labour & Employment is a national-level institute, exclusively dedicated to research, training, education and publication of wide range of issues with regard to labour and related subjects and the MoU was signed today by its Director General Amit Nirmal in association with its Fellow Otojit Kshetrimayum.
Professor Sagar Pal, Dean (R &D) of IIT (ISM) was also present during the signing of the MoU and delivered the introduction speech on behalf of IIT (ISM). For VV Giri National Labour Institute, the introduction speech was delivered by Otojit Kshetrimayun.
