Japan records around 8,000 COVID-19 related deaths this month

RNS: Japan has experienced a new spike in the number of deaths connected to COVID, with 8,103 fatalities registered up until this month.

Since the beginning of December 2022, the number of deaths attributed to COVID has been steadily climbing in Japan. Since the year 2020, the pandemic has been responsible for a total of 65,400 fatalities.

According to the Japanese Health Ministry, this marks the highest monthly total since the pandemic began.

“In the past day, a total of 326 persons across the country have been found to have died as a result of COVID-19.” According to the most recent information that was made available by the ministry, the illness has been responsible for the deaths of approximately 5,000 people over the course of the past week and a half.
