“Children can do everything they set their minds”: Dr Hemlata

RNS: In a bid to develop skills among the students in critical thinking, analyzing and problem-solving, DPS Chas hosted an inter-house chess and carom championship.

Sutlej House won the chess competition for students in Class IV and V groups, while Chenab and Yamuna scored second and third. In the girls’ group, Satluj House again came out on top, while Ganga and Chenab Houses grabbed the second and third positions.

Among the boys in Classes 6 to 8, Chenab House came out on top, followed by Yamuna House and Ganga House. For students in classes 9 to 12, Yamuna House scored first, Chenab second, and Satluj grabbed third position.

In Carrom Championship, however, students were divided into three categories, and each team played for three rounds.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hemlata S. Mohan, the Chief Mentor of DPS Chas, congratulated the students for their achievements and praised their meticulous attitude, which helped them to make all the difference.

She continued by saying that children can accomplish everything they set their minds. “Motivation should always be kept high,” she emphasized.

She also lauded the educators for supporting and participating in activities like this, which help the kids grow as people.

Officiating principal of DPS Chas, Deepali Bhuskute, also congratulated the young grandmaster and appreciated his efforts. She claimed that success could be attained by having idealistic goals. The importance of students’ accomplishments will never be diminished because of their ability to motivate other children to strive for excellence.
