DPS Bokaro Shines in Dubai; wins “Green School of the Year – India” title

RNS: On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Delhi Public School in Bokaro Steel City was awarded the prestigious title of “Green School of the Year – India” at the Global Education Summit and Awards ceremony in Dubai.

This accomplishment is a win for the environment.

The institution was honoured alongside other award recipients and delegates hailing from 26 countries; around 985 nominations were received from 57 countries, and only 70 were selected for awards.

H.E. Jasmin Delvic, Consul General, Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia in Dubai, was present as Guest of Honour. László Márton, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Hungary, Abu Dhabi, was present as a Special Guest. Khanlar Pashazde, Vice-Council, General Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Dubai, was present as a Special Guest.

The event perfectly blended appreciation, worldwide networking, knowledge sharing, and peer learning. DPS Bokaro won an AKS Education Award for its environmental leadership.

DPS Bokaro has committed to a better future through waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and eco-friendly programs. They added bird feeders, cutting-edge paper recycling equipment, and a powerful Green Brigade to protect the environment.

The school also started the “Save Soil” movement, used organic and nutrient-rich soil for their gardens, and included climate change, biodiversity, and sustainable living in their curriculum.

Accepting this prestigious award on behalf of the entire DPS Bokaro family fills me with pride, said Dr. A. S. Gangwar, adding, “We remain committed to creating a sustainable educational environment for our students and precious planet.”

Dr. Gangwar thanked the tireless efforts and dedication of the hardworking faculty, engaged kids, appreciative parents, and indispensable community partners for the success.
