Bokaro girl Sakshi emerges top in inter-college Sugam Sangeet competition

Bokaro: Sakshi Ranjan, a first-year undergraduate student pursuing English Honors at Bokaro Steel City College, has showcased her exceptional talent by clinching the top spot in Sugam Sangeet (bhajan singing) during the ‘Antarnad’ inter-college competition organized by BBMKU.

Accompanied by Ramen Mukherjee on tabla and Kushan Sen Gupta on harmonium, Sakshi mesmerized the audience with her melodious rendition. Hailing from a musical background, Sakshi’s father, Dr. Rakesh Ranjan, is a renowned tabla musician. Under the tutelage of her father and the guidance of classical maestro Pt. Rana Jha, Sakshi has honed her musical skills to perfection.

The competition, which saw participation from over 500 students representing 22 colleges in Bokaro and Dhanbad, featured a total of 27 categories during the three-day youth festival organized by Binod Bihari Mahato Koylanchal University (BBMKU) from February 3 to February 7, 2024.

Dr. Umamageshwari, Principal of BS City College, Bokaro, extended her heartfelt congratulations to Sakshi upon her return from Dhanbad following her triumphant performance in the tournament.
