Bokaro witnessed an enchanting evening filled with poetic fervour as the Kavi Sammelan unfolded amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the Ispatanchal Swadeshi Mela.
The Swadeshi fair holds a special allure for the residents of Bokaro, who eagerly await its arrival each year. While the stalls showcasing indigenous products draw crowds to this annual event organized by the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, the cultural programs, poetry conferences, symposiums, and other creative activities add to the charm of the fairgrounds.
Amidst the array of food stalls, it was the Litti Chokha and Jalebi stalls by the Swadeshi Jagran Manch that particularly caught the attention of visitors.
On Monday evening, a Kavi Sammelan was organized under the auspices of the All India Sahitya Parishad, Bokaro, in collaboration with litterateur Dr. Satyadev Tiwari and chaired by poet Dr. Narendra Kumar Rai. Directed by Geeta Kumari Gustakh and Luv Kumar, the poets captivated the audience with their verses on themes ranging from Swadeshi ideals to human emotions, love, and patriotism.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp on the stage by esteemed guests, including former in-charge principal of Chas College, Parmeshwar Lal Varnwal, national fair head of Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Sachindra Kumar Bariyar, and Swadeshi Jagran Manch preacher Rajesh Upadhyay, after garlanding the statue of Mother India.
Brahmananda Goswami’s invocation set the tone for the poetry recitations that followed. Poets like Karuna Kalika, Dr. Parmeshwar Bharti, Amir Nath Jha Amar, and others mesmerized the audience with their compositions. Notable mentions include Arun Pathak’s ‘Swadeshi Ho Dharam Hamara…’ and President Dr. Narendra Kumar Rai’s ‘Aanchal Bharat Maa Ka.’
The event saw a large turnout of poetry enthusiasts, including members of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch and other dignitaries, who were treated to an evening of literary delights.
