New Generation Ballistic Missile Agni-Prime successfully flight-tested

RNS: In a significant milestone for India’s defense capabilities, the New Generation Ballistic Missile Agni-Prime underwent a successful flight test on Wednesday.

The Strategic Forces Command (SFC), in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), orchestrated the test from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island, situated off the coast of Odisha.

According to sources, the test, conducted around 1900 hrs, achieved all predefined objectives, affirming its dependable performance. This affirmation stemmed from the meticulous analysis of data collected by numerous range sensors strategically positioned at various locations, including two downrange ships stationed at the terminal point.

The event garnered attention from top military brass, with the Chief of Defence Staff and officials from both the SFC and DRDO witnessing the launch firsthand.

In response to the successful test, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh extended his congratulations to DRDO, SFC, and the Armed Forces. Singh emphasized that the successful development and integration of Agni-Prime will substantially bolster the Armed Forces’ capabilities, serving as a formidable force multiplier.

Acknowledging the collaborative efforts behind the accomplishment, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Secretary, Department of Defence R&D, and Chairman DRDO Dr. Samir V Kamat commended the SFC and DRDO for their dedication and expertise displayed during the successful flight test.
