In the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, the police arrested criminals involved in two different incidents within one hour, following separate encounters. These incidents involved a robbery from a medicine dealer and firing at the house of a retired soldier. The police apprehended three criminals in two encounters, which took place in different areas with a short time gap. During the encounters, the criminals were shot in their legs.
In the first incident, the Gomti Nagar police arrested three suspects involved in the robbery. Two of them were shot in the leg, and one of them was a minor. Meanwhile, the Krishna Nagar police arrested a criminal involved in firing and arson during an encounter. After interrogation, the police also apprehended his accomplice.
In the Krishna Nagar area, at Alinagar Sunhara, a retired soldier named Manoj Kumar’s house had been fired upon and set on fire ten days ago. The police were searching for the perpetrators. Around 2 AM, during a check, the police stopped a biker, who fired at them. In the subsequent action, the criminal was shot in the leg and identified as Mohammad Shami from Thawai. He confessed that on December 15, he had fired at Manoj Kumar’s house and thrown a petrol bomb along with his accomplice Yogesh Kumar. On December 21, the Sitapur police had arrested him for theft. Based on his confession, Krishna Nagar police also arrested his other associate, Akash Gautam from Sazgipuram E Block, and recovered a car from him. Inspector of Krishna Nagar, P.K. Singh, mentioned that Shami had 23 cases of robbery, theft, and dacoity against him. He had been in jail for four years and was released on bail two months ago, after which he had committed dacoity in Sitapur. Shami had rented a room in Alinagar Sunhara, posing as a transporter.
In the second incident, on December 22, car-borne criminals had overtaken and stopped the car of a medicine dealer, Amar Kesari, in Daliganj. They robbed him and his wife. Ten minutes later, in Rajajipuram, Anil Mishra and his associate Vikas Soni were attacked, and their gold chain and cash were stolen near Dayal Paradise Chowk. On the night of December 25, around 2:30 AM, acting on a tip-off, the police set up a trap at Neeraj Chowk in Gomti Nagar. As the car-borne criminals saw the police, they opened fire. In the retaliatory fire, one of the criminals was shot in the leg, while three others managed to flee. The injured criminal, Aman, was from Sushant Golf City.
The police team then started searching for the fleeing criminals in the nearby jungle. During the pursuit, one of the criminals fired at the police, and in the return fire, he was shot in the leg. He was identified as Veer Yadav from Telibagh. The third criminal, Karan Singh from Telibagh, was apprehended near Dayal Chowk. A minor accomplice was also arrested and sent to a juvenile home. The police recovered the stolen items from the criminals.
