21st Bokaro Open Basketball Championship Concludes with Enthusiastic Participation

Bokaro: The 21st Bokaro Open Basketball Championship, held at the Janvrit 12 basketball court, concluded on a high note, with over 30 teams from Bokaro participating in the competition. The event saw participation from various age groups, including Under-14 boys and girls, kids, and senior teams, all competing in league matches.

The championship was inaugurated by Chief Guest Anuradha Singh and Special Guest Dr. Amir Hussain, Director Principal of Oriental Public School. Both emphasized the importance of such events in bringing out young talent. Volleyball India Coach Jaideep Sarkar and Basketball India Coach Dr. Umakant Singh also contributed to the event’s success.

Dr. Umakant Singh, the competition coordinator, highlighted that the primary aim of the event was to nurture new players’ talent, share insights on new basketball rules, and bring together both new and experienced players. He also noted that the competition had been successfully organized every year for the past 21 years.

The competition included thrilling matches, with players selected based on their performance for further training. In the girls’ category, The Warrior defeated Hopers 13-7. In the junior boys’ category, The Warrior triumphed over Five Brothers with a score of 32-30. The senior boys’ competition saw Team Brothers defeating Ball with Nishant 34-15.

Armaan was awarded the Best Player of the tournament. Several senior players, including Ram Narayan Pandit, Ram Lakhan Mistry, and others, congratulated the organizers for a successful event and wished for its continued success in the future.
