CSIR-NML Marks 13th Foundation Day of AcSIR with Focus on Research and Innovation”

Jamshedpur: The 13th Foundation Day of the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) was celebrated today at the CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (CSIR-NML) in Jamshedpur. The event, organized by the AcSIR-NML Science Club, highlighted the institution’s significant contributions to research and innovation.

The ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ritual, led by distinguished guests, including Prof. P.P. Chattopadhyay, Director of NAMIT Hatia Ranchi; Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, Director of CSIR-NML; Dr. K.K. Sahu, Chief Scientist and AcSIR Coordinator at NML; and Mr. Roshan Kumar, President of the AcSIR-NML Science Club.

In his address, Dr. Chowdhury emphasized AcSIR’s growth at CSIR-NML, particularly its role in connecting research labs with industry through its partnership with CSIR. He also acknowledged the global impact of its students, alumni, and faculty.

Prof. Chattopadhyay, delivering the keynote speech, stressed the importance of collaboration between academia and industry to turn research into practical applications, particularly in the engineering sector. He called for innovative approaches to bridge the gap between knowledge and product development.

Dr. Sahu reviewed AcSIR’s national and international achievements, highlighting growing student enrollments and collaborations with universities worldwide. Mr. Kumar outlined the event’s agenda, including a technical session, student poster presentations, and an alumni felicitation ceremony.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Sukalpan Nandi, Vice-President of the AcSIR-NML Science Club.

Founded in 2010, AcSIR is an Institution of National Importance, dedicated to advancing scientific research and innovation, with today’s event reaffirming its continued commitment to excellence in the field.
