DRDO, Indian Army Successfully Conduct Four Flight Tests of Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile

Odisha: In a significant achievement, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Army successfully conducted four flight tests of the Army version of the Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MR-SAM) today.

The tests took place off the coast of Odisha at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Island.

According to the Defence Ministry, the missiles successfully intercepted and destroyed aerial targets, achieving direct hits during the trials.

The tests were designed to assess the missile’s ability to target and neutralize threats at various ranges, including long-range, short-range, high altitude, and low altitude. These trials were conducted with the missile system in operational conditions, proving its effectiveness in real-world scenarios.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the efforts of DRDO, the Indian Army, and the supporting industries for the success of the flight tests. He emphasized that these successful trials have reaffirmed the missile system’s capability to intercept targets at critical ranges.
