Kumar Amit Meets Governor, Seeks Reforms in Education & Civic Policies

Ranchi: BJP State Working Committee member Kumar Amit, leading a delegation, met Governor Santosh Gangwar in Ranchi on Monday, pressing for a CBI investigation into the death of Prem Mahto during the March 3rd lathicharge on displaced apprentices protesting at Bokaro Steel Plant.

The delegation submitted three memorandums, highlighting key demands.

They urged the Governor to push for a CBI inquiry, withdrawal of FIRs lodged against the displaced protesters, and permanent employment for SAIL-trained apprentices. The delegation also demanded immediate civic elections, an end to the “unfunded” education policy, and the development of higher education infrastructure in Bokaro.

Kumar Amit detailed the Bokaro lathicharge incident and further advocated for upgrading facilities at Bokaro City College and Chas College, introducing NCC training across major state colleges, restarting pending student union elections, filling vacancies for professors and principals, and converting Bokaro’s Women’s College into a government institution.

Governor Gangwar assured the delegation of a high-level probe into Prem Mahto’s death and promised to review the other demands positively.

The delegation also included BJP leaders Arvind Rai, Lalbabu, Karan Gorai, and Chandraprakash.
