Parasnath Breakthrough: Huge Maoist Weapon Stash Unearthed

Parasnath: In a major breakthrough, security forces uncovered a large stash of weapons and explosives hidden by Maoist insurgents in the dense forests of Parasnath Hills, Giridih district. Acting on intelligence, a joint team of CRPF’s 154 Battalion and Giridih police carried out a Search and Destroy Operation near Jokai Nala and Gardi, key Maoist hotspots.

The team discovered a buried synthetic water tank concealing a variety of arms, including bolt-action rifles, shotguns, pistols, SLRs, electric detonators, explosives, and even a radio communication set. The cache indicates preparations for potential ambushes and sabotage against security forces.

Parasnath Hills, the highest peak in Jharkhand and a sacred site for Jain and tribal communities, has long been exploited by Maoists due to its difficult terrain. Past incidents include temple lockdowns and fatal encounters with security personnel.

This operation highlights ongoing efforts to dismantle insurgent networks, while the state government continues development initiatives aimed at steering local youth away from extremism. The successful seizure marks a critical step toward restoring peace and stability in the Maoist-affected region.
