New Delhi: Congress MP and former diplomat Shashi Tharoor has been named to head a key all-party delegation tasked with exposing Pakistan-sponsored terrorism on the international stage. The move follows Operation Sindoor, India’s strong response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
The seven-member team, announced by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, will begin its diplomatic mission next week, with Tharoor leading the delegation to the US and Europe. Other MPs will cover different global regions as part of a 10-day outreach.
This multi-nation campaign is part of the Modi government’s broader diplomatic strategy to rally international support for zero-tolerance towards terrorism. The Ministry of External Affairs will brief the MPs before departure.
Opposition leaders, including Salman Khurshid and Shrikant Shinde, are also expected to lead delegations to Japan, the UAE, and Africa, respectively. Participating nations fall under regional blocs such as the US, EU, UK, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Australia.
