Bokaro: Renowned Bokaro-based international painter Saroj Mishra was honoured with the prestigious ‘Kala Shri’ title during a three-day international painting workshop held in Varanasi from May 23 to 25.
Organized by Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth and Kashika Chitrakala Sangathan, the workshop showcased over 85 artists from across India and countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Mexico, each presenting vivid interpretations of Banaras through watercolor and acrylic works.
Mishra, an art educator at Shri Ayyappa Public School, received praise for his distinctive technique and commitment to promoting tribal art among students in Jharkhand. His artworks, along with those by Nagendra Shashidhar, Tapan Rai, and Ajay Upasani, stood out at the event.
The program was chaired by Dr. Om Prakash Gupta, with key figures such as Dr. Sunil Kumar Vishwakarma, President of Uttar Pradesh Lalit Kala Academy, and Premchand Vishwakarma among the lead organizers.
All participating artists were felicitated with certificates, mementoes, and traditional attire in recognition of their contributions to the visual arts.
