Ayodhya: In a spiritually charged atmosphere, the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) of the Ram Darbar on the first floor of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was conducted with elaborate Vedic rituals on Thursday, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra.
The sacred installation featured the idol of Lord Ram seated on a throne with Goddess Sita (Janaki) by his side, flanked by brothers Bharat, Lakshman, and Shatrughan, and the devoted Lord Hanuman (Bajrangbali).
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, accompanied by revered saints, led the Netronmilana (ritual eye-opening ceremony) and performed the first aarti, bringing to a close the three-day-long spiritual proceedings.
The ceremony also included the consecration of idols in seven other temples within the temple complex, including that of Lord Rameshwaram, with the infusion of divine life (pran pratishtha) performed during the sacred Abhijit Muhurat (11:30 AM to 12 PM).
