From Soil to Soul: PM Modi Plants Sindoor Sapling in Tribute to Bravehearts Women Warriors

New Delhi: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi planted a Sindoor (vermilion) sapling at his official residence in the national capital. The sapling, gifted by the courageous women of Kutch, Gujarat, holds deep historical and emotional significance.

The women, hailed for their bravery during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, had shown remarkable patriotism and resilience, earning national admiration. PM Modi, while remembering his recent visit to Gujarat, described the sapling as a living symbol of “Naari Shakti” (women’s power) and a lasting tribute to their heroic spirit.

“The Sindoor plant will always remind us of the unmatched strength and inspiration drawn from the mothers and sisters of our country,” Modi said, reinforcing the connection between environmental consciousness and the power of collective memory.

The act, symbolic in nature, also underscored the government’s commitment to environmental sustainability and cultural reverence on a day marked globally to protect and preserve the planet.
