From Kitchens to Command: Modi Government’s Women Empowerment Journey Across India

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hailed the past 11 years of women-led development as a transformative era in India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation, crediting women’s empowerment as a cornerstone of national progress under the NDA government.

In a social media post commemorating the NDA’s 11th anniversary in power, PM Modi asserted that women across diverse sectors — from science and education to startups, sports, and the armed forces — are not just participating but leading and inspiring millions through their achievements.

Highlighting key initiatives that have shaped this shift, the Prime Minister pointed to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which ensured dignity for women through access to sanitation, and Jan Dhan Yojana, which ushered in a wave of financial inclusion for women, especially in rural areas.

He also mentioned Ujjwala Yojana as a landmark scheme that brought smoke-free kitchens to millions of households, drastically improving the lives of women.

PM Modi further emphasized the impact of MUDRA loans, which have enabled lakhs of women to become self-reliant entrepreneurs. He praised the PM Awas Yojana for allotting houses in women’s names, calling it a symbol of security and empowerment at the grassroots.

Recalling the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign, Modi described it as a nationwide movement that changed mindsets and mobilized communities in support of the girl child.

“As we look forward to a developed India, it is the power and potential of women that will drive our progress,” the Prime Minister stated, reinforcing his government’s continued commitment to inclusive and women-centric policy-making.
