BSL Expansion Must Be Fast-Tracked; Super Speciality Facilities, Jan Aushadhi Kendra at BGH: Kumar Amit

Bokaro: BJP State Working Committee member Kumar Amit met Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) Director-in-Charge Virendra Kumar Tiwari on Thursday and pressed for the immediate implementation of the long-pending BSL expansion project.

He emphasised that the 2.5 million tonne production capacity enhancement is not only vital for the economic growth of Bokaro but also crucial for the employment prospects of local youth.

During the meeting, Kumar Amit submitted a formal memorandum, stating that the expansion aligns with the objectives of the National Steel Policy launched by the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. “The BSL expansion is a developmental gift from the Modi government to the people of Jharkhand. SAIL must take swift and concrete steps to implement this project, which will further propel the growth of the region,” he remarked.

In addition to the expansion demand, Kumar Amit also urged the authorities to transform Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) into a super speciality medical facility and establish a Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra within the hospital campus to provide affordable medicines to the public.

Director-in-Charge responded positively and assured that necessary steps will be taken to move the proposals forward.

Besides others, BJP Marafar Mandal President Dhananjay Choubey, BJYM Bokaro City General Secretary Lalbabu, and Karan Gorai were present during meeting.
