Bokaro: The Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Chhau Centre in Chandanakiyari, Bokaro marked International Yoga Day and World Music Day on Saturday with a blend of wellness and cultural activities.
The celebration followed a four-phase format under central government guidelines. The day began with a prabhat pheri led by Chhau dancers, spreading the message “Rojana Karo Yog, Raho Nirog” across the town. A mass yoga session followed, concluding with a collective pledge for a Healthy and Prosperous India.
A highlight of the event was a painting exhibition by children on the theme “Yogaḥ Karmasu Kaushalam”, guided by artist Sunil Modi.
Dignitaries present included former Jharkhand Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri, Yoga Guru Ganesh Pal, MP representative Vinod Gorai, and officials from the Chhau Centre. Shri Bauri praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s global promotion of yoga and emphasized the deep connection between yoga and music.
The event was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Sanjay Kumar Choudhary, showcasing the synergy of tradition, health, and the arts.
