DPS Bokaro celebrates International Day of Yoga

Bokaro : Delhi Public School, Bokaro, celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga in the school premises in association with Bokaro District Yogasana Sport Association (BDYSA) with exuberance and vigour. Adhering to the theme of 2025 ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, the school stressed the relationship between personal health and balance with the planet.

The entire school community actively participated in several activities promoting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. A powerful Yoga presentation was exhibited by the young performers to celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess of this ancient art.

The presentation was a rich display of different ‘Yoga mudras’ like Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Padahastasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Trikonasana, Bhadrasana, Vajrasana, Shashankasana, Mandukasana, Vakrasana, Makarasana, Bhujangasana and Setu Bandhasana and the importance of these were explained simultaneously. Breathing techniques like Kapalbhati and Anulom-Vilom were also practised to enhance mental clarity and calmness. Many activities were also conducted to emphasize the holistic benefits of Yoga among the students such as poster making, speech delivery, quiz etc.

The special attraction of the day was the release of Yoga Magazine ‘Prithvi Yog‘. The magazine curated by the students include rich information on the importance and different types of Yogasanas with an aim to create awareness about this ancient art of our nation which is now practiced globally. A special session was organised for the faculty members to overcome stress and cultivate healthy habits to lead a peaceful and happy life.

The Principal of DPS Bokaro and President, Bokaro District Yogasana Sports Association, Dr. A. S. Gangwar appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and faculty in promoting this ancient and powerful discipline. He asserted, “Yoga, which embodies physical well-being, inner peace and holistic living, must be passed on to the next generation to nurture healthy and balanced citizens. I feel elated to see my young students embracing this timeless practice who will become the torchbearers to share the power of Yoga for health and sustainability to the entire world.”
