No Surface Damage, Total Destruction: US Shares Proof of Bunker-Buster Bomb Success in Iran

US Releases Bunker-Buster Bomb Footage to Validate Iran Strike Success

Washington, D.C. – In a rare move to dispel skepticism, the United States has released test footage of its bunker-buster bombs used in last Saturday’s precision strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The Pentagon showcased the footage during a press briefing Thursday, highlighting the strategic depth and success of the mission dubbed Operation Midnight Hammer.

Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine detailed how the US deployed B-2 bombers to hit three fortified Iranian nuclear sites. The unique aspect of these strikes, Gen. Caine emphasized, was that the damage wasn’t visible from the surface — a hallmark of the 30,000-pound bunker-buster bombs designed to penetrate deep underground before detonating.

“These bombs don’t leave dramatic craters. Their power lies in what they destroy far beneath the surface,” said Caine. “The primary kill mechanisms were overpressure and blast, not surface fragmentation.”

To silence critics questioning the effectiveness of the attack, the Pentagon played footage from internal test runs showing how the bombs burrow into fortified structures. “This was a deeply calculated mission, not a show of force,” Hegseth added, also slamming sections of the media for “missing history” in pursuit of controversy.

Gen. Caine praised the Defence Threat Reduction Agency, noting that its experts had studied Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility for 15 years to make the strike possible. He outlined how six precision bombs were used per target: the first opened the shaft, the next four drove in at over 1,000 feet per second, and the sixth acted as a backup to ensure total destruction.

Saturday’s surprise offensive marked the US’s entry into the escalating Middle East conflict, prompting Iran to launch a retaliatory strike on an American base in Qatar. However, prior warnings allowed the US to preemptively secure its personnel, resulting in zero casualties.

President Trump chose not to escalate further, and within hours brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Iran — momentarily halting a spiraling crisis.
