Empowering Campus Ethics: XLRI Leads with POSH Training Session for Educators

Jamshedpur: Reinforcing its commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus culture, XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, conducted a comprehensive Gender Sensitization and POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Awareness Session for its faculty and administrative staff.

The session, organised by XLRI’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), drew an impressive turnout of 146 participants and focused on building awareness around legal, ethical, and institutional responsibilities under the POSH Act, 2013.

The workshop was spearheaded by Prof. Ayatakshee Sarkar, ICC Convenor and certified POSH trainer, who delivered an insightful and interactive session. She covered a wide range of critical topics, including: The composition and legal duties of the ICC; Maintaining confidentiality and due process in complaint handling; Myths around false allegations and the importance of evidence; Understanding modern definitions of sexual harassment in physical and digital spaces and The responsibility of faculty and staff as ethical leaders and culture shapers.

“POSH compliance is more than just a legal requirement — it’s a collective ethical duty,” said Prof. Sarkar. “Every member of the academic community has a role in building a campus where dignity, safety, and respect are non-negotiable.”

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where participants raised meaningful questions that were addressed with transparency and empathy, reinforcing faith in institutional redressal systems.

Notably, a similar sensitization session was previously conducted for students across various academic programs, reflecting XLRI’s 360-degree approach to awareness and empowerment.

With such initiatives, XLRI continues to stand out as a values-driven institution — one that prioritizes not just academic excellence, but also the well-being and dignity of its entire campus community.

For any POSH-related concerns, stakeholders are encouraged to reach out to the Internal Complaints Committee.
