Gaya: The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) is set to launch a two-year integrated B.Lib.I.Sc–M.Lib.I.Sc course from the 2025-26 academic session, aiming to transform information management education in Bihar.
The initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and addresses the rising demand for skilled professionals in the field of Library and Information Science.
Announcing the program, Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh said the course would give Bihar a new dimension in digital education and knowledge management. “In the age of the digital revolution, this program is a much-needed step that will produce digitally literate, technically skilled, and research-ready professionals not only for Bihar but for the entire nation,” he added.
Students enrolled in the course will benefit from modern facilities, including a digital library lab, high-speed internet, open-source tools, educational tours, and internships in reputed Indian libraries. The curriculum is designed to blend traditional knowledge with cutting-edge technological innovations.
The online application process for the 2025–27 batch is currently open and will close on July 13, 2025. The entrance test and document verification will be held on July 15, and the final admission list will be released on July 21.
The application fee is ₹1000 for General/EWS candidates and ₹750 for OBC/SC/ST/PWD. Applicants must hold a graduation degree with 55% marks (UR/OBC/EWS) or 50% marks (SC/ST/PWD) in any discipline.
