Patna Hospital Horror: 5 Gunmen Kill Notorious Criminal on Parole — Caught on CCTV

Patna: In a sensational crime that has sent shockwaves through Bihar’s capital, five armed men brazenly entered Patna’s Paras Hospital in broad daylight and shot dead a dreaded gangster undergoing treatment — all within moments, and all caught on CCTV.

The attackers walked into the hospital undeterred, headed straight to the target’s cabin, carried out the execution with chilling speed, and exited the premises without resistance. The entire sequence was captured on surveillance cameras, exposing severe lapses in hospital security.

The victim, Chandan Mishra, a notorious criminal from Buxar district, was accused in over a dozen murder cases. He had been transferred from Buxar to Bhagalpur jail and was out on medical parole when he was admitted to Paras Hospital.

The CCTV footage shows the gunmen approaching Mishra’s private cabin one after another. Moments later, they re-emerge and calmly walk away. Two hospital occupants are seen peeking out of nearby cabins, startled by the sound of gunfire and commotion.

According to Patna SSP Kartikay Sharma, the attack appears to be the handiwork of a rival gang, suspected to be linked to the Chandan Sheru gang.

“Chandan Mishra, a high-profile criminal, was shot while on medical parole. The rival gang is suspected to be behind the killing. We are identifying the shooters with assistance from Buxar police,” told Sharma .

The daylight murder inside a private hospital has raised serious concerns over security for high-risk inmates and the unchecked reach of criminal syndicates in Bihar. Police teams are reviewing CCTV footage and have launched a massive search operation to track down the assailants.

The incident underscores the continued grip of organized crime in the state, and the brazen confidence with which such executions are being carried out — even within the presumed safety of a medical facility.
