Rs 38 Lakh Fine on Rolls-Royce Cars Linked to Amitabh, Aamir for Tax Evasion in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Two luxury Rolls-Royce cars previously owned by Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan have been slapped with hefty fines of ₹18.53 lakh and ₹19.73 lakh, respectively, by Karnataka’s Regional Transport Office (RTO) for road tax evasion.

Interestingly, neither of the stars currently owns the vehicles. Both were reportedly sold years ago to Yusuf Sharif, a businessman-politician popularly known as ‘KGF Babu’. Despite using the cars regularly in Bengaluru, Sharif never transferred ownership to his name, leaving the vehicles still registered under the Bollywood icons in Maharashtra.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom, once owned by Amitabh Bachchan, has been in the city since 2021, while the Rolls-Royce Ghost, earlier linked to Aamir Khan, arrived in 2023. As per rules, vehicles from other states must pay local road tax if used in Karnataka beyond one year — a rule both cars violated.

The RTO had first flagged the Phantom in 2021 but spared it from penalties at the time, as it hadn’t completed a year in the state. With both vehicles now confirmed to have exceeded the time limit, the department has imposed the pending fines.

Authorities have also confirmed that ownership documents remain unchanged, even as the vehicles continue to operate under new hands.
