BIT Mesra Hosts ICCoSD 2025: Global Conference on Communication & Smart Devices Begins

Ranchi: The IEEE International Conference on Communication and Smart Devices (ICCoSD 2025) kicked off at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, uniting top academicians, researchers, and industry leaders on a common platform to explore next-gen technologies.

Inaugurated with traditional rituals and the institute prayer, the two-day event opened with a welcome address by Dr. Gajendra Kant Mishra, who outlined the conference’s objectives. Chief Guest Varun Ranjan, IAS (MD, JIIDCO), and Guest of Honour Prof. Saswat Chakrabarti from IIT Kharagpur marked their presence, while BIT Vice Chancellor Prof. Indranil Manna highlighted the institution’s research excellence.

Day 1 featured engaging sessions including a plenary talk by Prof. Chakrabarti on advanced communication systems, a keynote by Prof. Preetam Kumar (IIT Patna) on smart devices, and a virtual lecture on IoT applications by Prof. Xiao-Zhi Gao (University of Eastern Finland).

Five parallel technical sessions saw 55 papers presented in hybrid mode, covering innovations in communication, smart tech, and IoT. The day ended on a high note with a cultural evening featuring music and classical dance performances by artists from across India, including Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and regional melodies.
