Jamshedpur : The three-day national seminar on Emerging Trends in Mineral Beneficiation Technologies (EMBT-2025) concluded successfully at the CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), Jamshedpur, with a strong emphasis on innovation and collaboration in mineral processing.
Organised by CSIR-NML, the event brought together over 150 delegates representing 22 organisations and academic institutions. A total of 66 technical papers were presented, showcasing the latest research and industrial advancements. The seminar received major sponsorship from leading industry players including Tata Steel, Coal India, JSW Steel, SAIL, Hindustan Copper, Boldata, Saint-Gobain, and Eriez India.
The valedictory session was presided over by Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, Director of CSIR-NML, who congratulated participants and highlighted the laboratory’s cutting-edge facilities and expertise in mineral processing.
Chief Guest Mr. Manoj Kumar, Director (Geology), Department of Mines & Geology, Jharkhand, underscored the urgency of adopting advanced beneficiation technologies, especially in the context of the Ministry of Mines recently declaring 24 minerals as critical and strategic. He also praised Jharkhand’s leadership in graphite and lithium exploration.
Day two of the seminar featured impactful plenary and keynote addresses, while a cultural evening added a lively note to the technical proceedings. Feedback and suggestions were gathered from delegates and sponsors during a special session conducted by Dr. R.K. Rath, Convenor of EMBT-2025.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. D.K. Mishra, Chairman of EMBT-2025, extended a vote of thanks and lauded the participants and organising teams. He noted that the Mineral Processing Division has a proud legacy of hosting landmark conferences during both the Diamond and Platinum Jubilee years of CSIR-NML.
