Dhanbad: Renowned expert in conservative political thought and foreign policy, Dr. Suvrokamal Dutta, addressed newly admitted students at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad’s Orientation Program, delivering an impactful talk titled “India’s Foreign Policy and the Rise of the Indian Economy.”
Dr. Dutta highlighted India’s growing global stature, economic resilience, and strategic assertiveness, calling the country a rising force in the Indo-Pacific and a potential economic superpower by 2040. He noted India’s increasing influence, citing the success of Operation Sindoor and the nation’s firm stance on international security. He also touched upon China’s post-pandemic economic challenges and India’s steady ascent in comparison.
The event, held ahead of the institute’s centenary celebrations, was presided over by Prof. Sukumar Mishra, Director of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, who welcomed and felicitated Dr. Dutta. He expressed gratitude for Dr. Dutta’s inspirational insights and extended his best wishes.
Dr. Dutta lauded the institute’s legacy and congratulated it on the upcoming milestone, noting that the centenary year had already begun on a historic note with President Droupadi Murmu set to be the Chief Guest at the 45th Convocation on August 1, 2025.
