Fijian PM Sitiveni Rabuka to Visit India: Key Talks with PM Modi

New Delhi: Fijian Prime Minister Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka will arrive in India on a three-day official visit from August 24–26, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Saturday.

Rabuka, accompanied by his spouse Sulueti Rabuka, will be joined by Health and Medical Services Minister Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu and senior officials as part of the delegation.

This will be Rabuka’s first visit to India in his current capacity. On August 25, he is scheduled to hold high-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will also host a lunch in his honour. The Fijian leader will also call on President Droupadi Murmu during his stay in New Delhi.

Highlighting Fiji’s growing engagement with India, Rabuka is expected to deliver a special address on “Ocean of Peace” at the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA).

The MEA underlined that Rabuka’s visit reflects the deep-rooted and time-tested partnership between India and Fiji, reaffirming their commitment to expand cooperation across multiple sectors and strengthen people-to-people ties.

President Murmu had visited Fiji in August 2024, underscoring the momentum in bilateral exchanges between the two countries.
