Dhanbad: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP National Vice President Raghubar Das on Sunday launched a fierce attack on the state government, alleging exploitation of tribals and protection of illegal mining and land mafias.
Speaking to media after attending a private program in Dhanbad, Das said, “The present government is openly safeguarding those involved in illegal mining, land grabbing and deforestation, while the tribal and native communities continue to suffer.”
Citing the RIMS-2 land dispute, he lashed out at the administration for putting farmers under restrictions, reminding that in 2011, late Shibu Soren had also joined the same farmers’ protest. Das also termed the death of Surya Hansda under “encounter circumstances” as suspicious, hinting at the possible involvement of the stone mafia.
Slamming the government as “weak and mafia-friendly,” Das criticised it for failing to implement the PESA Act, claiming his government had initiated the process back in 2019.
Predicting political change, Das asserted, “The tribal society has awakened and will teach this government a lesson in the upcoming elections.”
