Bokaro Steel Plant, NDDB Join Hands to Distribute 2300 Free Milk Packs in Schools

Bokaro: Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) and NDDB Foundation for Nutrition (NFN) have inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to provide free milk to schoolchildren under NFN’s flagship Gift Milk Programme.

The agreement, signed at Ispat Bhawan today, will ensure the daily distribution of 2,300 fortified milk packs to students across CSR-supported and government schools in Bokaro.

As part of the initiative, 200 ml flavoured milk fortified with Vitamins A and D will be supplied to six DAV–Steel schools, two schools managed by Bokaro Mahila Samiti, and 13 government schools identified by the district administration.

Senior officials from BSL and NDDB, including Biswajit Banerjee, GM (CSR), and Neeraj Tripathi, Senior Manager, NDDB, attended the signing. Speaking on the occasion, Banerjee emphasized strict monitoring to ensure effective delivery of nutritional support, calling the initiative a “meaningful step to combat malnutrition among schoolchildren.”

Launched in 2015, NFN’s Gift Milk Programme aims to improve nutrition levels of children and vulnerable groups by providing milk and other fortified food products.
