‘US Can’t Talk to India, China That Way’ – Putin Rebukes Trump

News Desk:  Russian President Vladimir Putin slammed US President Donald Trump’s tariff measures, warning that Washington’s bullying tactics against India and China echo a “colonial mindset” that no longer has a place in global politics.

Speaking after the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and China’s Victory Day parade, Putin said the US is trying to weaken Asia’s biggest economies through “economic pressure” — a move he called a “serious mistake.”

“You have countries like India with 1.5 billion people, China with immense economic power. They have their own laws and political systems. When someone threatens punishment, leaders of such nations will respond firmly,” Putin said.

He argued that America’s approach mimics outdated imperial practices. “The colonial era is over. Eventually, dialogue will return to normal,” Putin added with a note of optimism.

Meanwhile, Trump doubled down, boasting of imposing secondary sanctions on India for buying Russian oil and warning that harsher steps could follow. “That cost Russia hundreds of billions. And I haven’t even done phase two or phase three yet,” Trump said, lashing out at a Polish journalist who suggested his measures lacked bite.
