-End the War or Face Dire Consequences
RNS: US President Donald Trump has delivered a sharp ultimatum to Hamas, urging the militant group to accept his terms to bring an end to the ongoing war with Israel — or face serious repercussions.
“Everyone wants the Hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end! The Israelis have accepted my terms. Now it is time for Hamas to do the same,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
He added firmly, “I have warned Hamas of the consequences of refusing to comply.”
Trump made it clear: “This is my last warning. There will be no second one! Thank you for your attention.”
However, the exact terms Trump has proposed to Hamas remain undisclosed.
According to a report by The Times of Israel, quoting Channel 12, the current US proposal includes the immediate release of all hostages on the first day of a truce, followed by the possibility of ending the war in Gaza through further negotiations.
The Israeli government has not officially confirmed acceptance of the proposal but is reportedly “very seriously considering” it, according to a source close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Still, the same source warned, “It seems that Hamas is likely to continue its refusal.”
UN Warns of Rapidly Closing Window to Prevent Famine in Gaza
Meanwhile, the United Nations Emergency Relief Coordinator, Tom Fletcher, issued a dire warning on Sunday, stating that the window to stop famine from spreading across Gaza is rapidly closing.
Amid what he described as a “massive military offensive” by Israeli forces targeting Palestinians in Gaza City — and the failure of ceasefire talks with Hamas militants — Fletcher warned of a humanitarian disaster unless urgent aid is allowed.
He said that by the end of September, famine could extend to Deir al Balah and Khan Younis unless a massive humanitarian effort is launched:
“Death, destruction, starvation, and displacement of Palestinian civilians are the result of choices that defy international law and ignore the international community.”
Fletcher emphasized that this humanitarian tragedy could still be averted if large-scale aid is permitted into Gaza.
He reiterated urgent calls for:
- An immediate ceasefire,
- Protection of civilians,
- Release of all hostages held by Hamas and other militants, and
- The freeing of Palestinians detained arbitrarily.
Furthermore, he urged the full implementation of the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) provisional measures, which demand prevention of genocidal acts and the swift delivery of essential services to Gaza’s civilian population.
