. Nand Ghar Marks Poshan Maah 2025, Empowering 3.5 Lakh Rural Families Across India
Bokaro: In a strong push against malnutrition, Nand Ghar, in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development, launched Poshan Maah 2025 today under the theme “Poshan Se Pragati”.
The month-long campaign engages over 3.5 lakh families across 15 states, transforming Nand Ghar centers into dynamic hubs promoting sustainable nutrition practices, health awareness, and child development.
The initiative offers hands-on activities—local recipe demonstrations, parent training on maternal health, child growth monitoring, and sessions connecting nutrition to learning outcomes under “Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi”.
Shashi Arora, CEO of Nand Ghar, emphasized, “Nutrition is key to India’s progress. Our mission is to empower rural communities with knowledge and simple, locally sourced solutions that create lasting impact.”
Ravish Sharma, Deputy CEO of ESL Steel Ltd., added, “At ESL, we believe nutrition is the first step toward a stronger nation. Poshan Maah ensures rural families gain access to nutritious practices, supporting Vedanta’s vision of holistic community development where health, education, and empowerment go hand in hand.”
Vedanta’s flagship initiative, Nand Ghar, is revolutionizing India’s Anganwadi system by integrating services in nutrition, early education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment. Its core strategy includes: Direct Nutrition Support through fortified Nutri Bars, Protein Shakes, and essential government programs, providing children a healthy start; Community Awareness & Sensitization, empowering caregivers with training counselling, and growth monitoring while promoting use of indigenous ingredients; Technology Integration, enabling real-time tracking of children’s progress and access to innovative food solutions.
Children enrolled in Nand Ghar benefit from structured early education, fortified nutrition, and systematic health monitoring—laying a strong foundation for improved growth, focus, and school readiness.
Nand Ghar’s integrated approach combines direct nutrition support (like fortified Nutri Bars and shakes), community sensitization, and technology-driven solutions to track health and promote indigenous food practices. In Poshan Maah 2024 alone, over one lakh millet shakes were served, and Project Balvardhan in Rajasthan is already improving the health of 80,000 children and mothers.
Operating across 9,000 centers in 15 states, Nand Ghar reaches 3.6 lakh children and 2.7 lakh women, aiming for a nationwide impact across 13.7 lakh Anganwadis.
