Bokaro: Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro has taken a major leap in futuristic education by inaugurating a state-of-the-art Composite Skill Lab for its primary students. In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the new facility aims to nurture scientific thinking and hands-on technical skills from an early age.
Inaugurated by Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar, the lab empowers children to explore aeronautics, space technology, rocketry, drone programming, and 3D printing. The facility boasts advanced tools like wind tunnels, jet engine models, VR headsets, robotic arms, hydraulic bridges, and rocket kits—bringing complex concepts to life beyond textbooks.
This facility enables primary school students, including those below Class 6, to understand and engage with futuristic technologies from the very start of their academic journey. Children can now build and launch model rockets, program drones, design objects using 3D printers, and explore virtual space environments with Meta Quest VR headsets. Interactive setups such as wind tunnels and jet engine models allow them to grasp complex concepts of aerodynamics in a simple and enjoyable way.
The lab also includes practical tools like robotic arms, hydraulic bridges, milling machines, and vernier calipers, encouraging hands-on learning in mechanical and electrical systems. These resources are specifically aimed at developing artificial intelligence understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in young minds.
Dr. Gangwar emphasized, “This is not just a lab, but a launchpad to shape tomorrow’s scientists and engineers.” The live demonstrations of drone flights, 3D printing, and rocket launches during the inauguration left students and guests spellbound.
This pioneering initiative is the first of its kind in Jharkhand at the school level, further cementing DPS Bokaro’s position among India’s leading STEM education providers.
