New York: India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Saturday delivered a blistering critique of Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly, highlighting its role in cross-border terrorism.
Speaking to world leaders, Jaishankar cited the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists from the Hindu community, as a stark reminder of ongoing threats.
“Terror hubs are operating on an industrial scale, their perpetrators glorified publicly, and terror financing continues unchecked. This must end,” he said, stopping short of directly naming Pakistan.
Jaishankar stressed that India has faced these challenges since independence, confronting a neighbor that functions as the “epicentre of global terrorism.”
“For decades, major international terrorist attacks have been traced back to that one country. UN-designated lists of terrorists are replete with its nationals,” he added, calling for collective global action against state-sponsored terrorism.

The minister’s remarks underline India’s push for international cooperation to choke terror financing, dismantle terror networks, and hold nations accountable for supporting militant groups.
