Trump Says Denying Him Nobel Peace Prize Would Be an ‘Insult to the US’

Trump Boasts of Eight Peace Deals, Predicts Russia-Ukraine Settlement
“I Don’t Want It Personally — The Country Deserves It”

Quantico, Virginia — U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that if he is denied the Nobel Peace Prize, it would not just be a slight against him but “a big insult to the United States.”

Speaking at a high-profile gathering of top military commanders alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Trump dismissed his chances of winning the award, but argued the snub would diminish America’s global standing.

“Will you get the Nobel Prize? Absolutely not. They’ll give it to some guy who didn’t do a damn thing,” he said. “It would be a big insult to our country. I don’t want it for myself — I want the nation to get it.”

The president used the stage to tout what he described as his record-breaking diplomacy. He claimed credit for eight international agreements already sealed and suggested a ninth was close, even predicting that brokering peace between Russia and Ukraine would be “the easiest one of them all.”

The event also marked Hegseth’s announcement of a sweeping review of military culture, promising to scrap what he called “woke garbage” and restore promotions strictly on merit. “No politics, no distractions — only performance,” he declared.

Trump listed conflicts he said were eased under his leadership, including those involving Israel and Iran, India and Pakistan, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and Serbia and Kosovo. However, analysts point out that many of these disputes remain unresolved, and several countries — including India — have flatly denied U.S. involvement.

With the Nobel Committee set to announce its Peace Prize in October, Trump’s remarks highlight both his determination to cast himself as a global dealmaker and his frustration at not being recognized for it.
