Bokaro: Reinforcing its commitment to community health and the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 — Good Health and Well-being — ESL Steel Limited organised an HIV/AIDS Awareness and Free Testing Camp under its flagship health initiative, Project Aarogya, at Giddtand Modh near the plant gate.
The camp, held in collaboration with the Citizens Foundation, One Stop Organisation, and the District Health Department, offered free and confidential HIV testing, counselling, and awareness sessions to nearly 30 participants, including truck drivers and contract labourers.
The initiative aimed to promote early detection, reduce stigma, and educate communities on HIV prevention and treatment, empowering individuals to take proactive steps toward healthier lives.
Continuing its outreach under Project Aarogya, ESL Steel has conducted three HIV/AIDS awareness camps in FY26 — held in May, July, and October 2025 — benefitting over 100 individuals through free screenings and counselling sessions.
Commenting on the initiative, Kunal Daripa, CSR Head, ESL Steel Ltd., said, “At ESL, we believe that true progress begins with good health. Through Project Aarogya, our mission is to extend quality healthcare access to every corner of our community. This HIV/AIDS awareness drive reflects our continued focus on preventive healthcare and building an informed, resilient society.”
With Project Aarogya, ESL Steel continues to strengthen rural health infrastructure and awareness in Bokaro and its adjoining areas, creating sustainable impact through regular medical camps and preventive health programs.
