Bokaro: The Bokaro Artists’ Association celebrated the timeless legacy of legendary singer Kishore Kumar with a soulful musical evening, “Ek Shaam Kishore Kumar Ke Naam,” held at the Music Academy in Sector 2A, SSP Market, on Monday.

The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting and floral tributes to Kishore Kumar’s portrait. DSP Animesh Gupta, Association President Jagdish Bawla, General Secretary Manbodh Mishra, Treasurer Arun Kumar, and several prominent artists joined the homage.

Speakers remembered Kishore Kumar as a rare genius — an actor, composer, and singer who could evoke every emotion through his voice. “As long as Indian cinema and music live, Kishore Da will remain in our hearts,” one artist remarked.

Performers enthralled the audience with classic renditions of evergreen hits such as “Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna,” “Zindagi Ka Safar,” “Dil Aaj Shayar Hai,” and “Humein Aur Jeene Ki Chahat Na Hoti.”

Musicians Jagdish Babla (synthesizer), Manbodh Mishra and Kanhaiya Verma (dholak), Vidhan Dutta (octopad), Mrityunjay Bhattacharya (guitar), and Arup Rakshit (violin) brought the melodies to life. Babla anchored the show, while Mishra extended a heartfelt vote of thanks.

The evening concluded with thunderous applause, as Bokaro’s music lovers celebrated Kishore Kumar’s immortal voice and the spirit of his songs that continue to inspire generations.
