Jharkhand’s 25th Foundation Day: Morabadi Ground Turns into a Spectacle of Culture and Celebration

Ranchi: Morabadi Ground burst into colour and festivity on Sunday as Jharkhand marked the 25th anniversary of its formation with a grand “Silver Celebration.” Chief Minister Hemant Soren, MLA Kalpana Soren, and members of their family joined thousands of citizens to commemorate the state’s historic milestone. The Chief Minister paid homage to Jharkhand’s rich heritage, vibrant tribal traditions, and the cultural pride that continues to shape the state’s identity.

The cultural stage at Morabadi transformed into a living museum of Jharkhand’s art and folk heritage. Artists from all corners of the state converged to present a stunning lineup of traditional performances, turning the venue into a pulsating centre of ethnic rhythms, colours, and storytelling.

A sweeping showcase of Jharkhand’s folk traditions kept the crowd enthralled. Performers presented Akhara Jagan (Jhumar), Santhali, Kadsa, Kharia, Mundari, Nagpuri, Ghora, Paika, and the spellbinding Saraikela and Manbhum Chhau styles. Each performance highlighted the linguistic and cultural diversity that gives Jharkhand its distinctive character.

As the night unfolded, the Silver Jubilee celebration stood as a powerful reminder of the state’s journey, its tribal roots, and the community spirit that binds its people. The event reaffirmed the pride Jharkhandis feel for their land—a land defined by resilience, tradition, and an enduring sense of identity.
