Goa: Goa has added a spectacular new cultural landmark to its identity — and this time, it’s not on a beach. A towering 77-foot bronze statue of Lord Ram, described as the tallest of its kind in the world, was unveiled at the sacred Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Mutt in South Goa, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding over the ceremony.
The statue, sculpted by legendary artist Ram V. Sutar, known for the Statue of Unity, has instantly become a monumental symbol of faith, heritage, and artistic achievement.

A Monument of Faith and Craftsmanship
The massive bronze figure stands majestically within the Partagali Math complex, a revered 550-year-old spiritual seat for the Gowd Saraswat Brahmin community.
The installation of the statue marks not just an anniversary — but a statement of cultural pride.
The Math’s spiritual leadership and trustees conceptualised the statue as a visual embodiment of Dharma, devotion, and civilisational continuity. The statue’s scale, structure, and detailing draw inspiration from Ramayana iconography, combining traditional reverence with modern sculptural engineering.
